Terry McInturff is a true Renaissance Man. He is a scientist. He is a sound engineer. He is a woodworker. He is an astronomer. He is an artist. He is a painter. He is an inventor. He is an innovator.
But most importantly, HE IS A GUITAR PLAYER WHO PERSONALLY HAND BUILDS GUITARS.
Terry built his first guitar in 1977 a set neck double-cut that featured an unusual (for the time) scale length of 25.125”. It proved to be the original prototype for what became an entire line of McInturff guitars. After becoming a Master Luthier and working for major guitar makers such as Hamer, in 1996 he started his own "high end" professional guitar manufacturing corporation. This allowed him to share some of the daily tasks with a staff of highly skilled woodworkers and technicians. Still it was Terry who did most of the final neck shaping, finish work, and set up. His hands were, and continue to be, the last hands to touch one of his creations before leaving his shop.
Please note that he continues to refer to his shop as "his shop". It is not a manufacturing plant. It is HIS shop and these are HIS guitars. And they are incredible professional instruments that play and sound only as the "best guitar" should.
Acclaim comes to those who excel in their professions and that is true with Terry. His work has been featured in virtually all of the world's leading guitar-oriented publications, such as Guitar Player (which has awarded Terry two Editor's Pick Awards), Guitarist, Guitar World, Premier Guitar, etc. Notable owners of McInturff guitars include Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), Brad Delsen (Linkin Park), Marshall Crenshaw, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Chuck Garvey (.moe), Danny Flowers, Jeff Beck, and many others.
But what has impressed us the most is Terry's integrity and dedication to his guitar players. As each guitar is sold, Terry's family has grown larger. You are gaining a personal relationship with its maker when you buy a TCM guitar.
