TYS moves forward

TuneYourSound.com was set up by two guitar enthusiasts some 3 years ago, both in the US and in Europe, with the aim to help the musician find His sound either trough renting  a guitar from our collection, or buy a vintage guitar through eBay or have a custom guitar/amp made by one of our highly skilled luthier friends.

For the later mission we have the pleasure to work over the last years with the following:

Terry McInturff, is one of the finest luthiers we have seen and an inspiring person. His low output makes it difficult to get a guitar from him. Nevertheless we have delivered several custom made guitars to the satisfaction of the clients.  We still have a good stock of used guitars inspected by Terry if you cannot wait to get a custom made guitar. Due to his low output Terry concentrates today on his Carolina model. The highly technical Spitfire (with an impressive passive tone control feature) is also still available and the tone control module may be available separately to retrofit any guitar.

Ryan Gadow, with his own designs remains a solid American based guitar builder. He concentrates for the moment on his latest creation the Bird. His advantage is to do everything himself from the wood work to the winding of the pickups. So any customisation is possible.

Jack Camarda (Jarrett Guitars), has developed and patented two major innovations for guitars: The floating top guitar enabling a sound closer to an electric-acoustic guitar without having a large body and the sound diffuser for his small electric-acoustic guitar generating a great sound. He continues to experiment with new concepts and we are interested to see with what other innovations he will come up.

Mikaël Springer, a new young talent from France, has found his shape and style and is simply building beautiful guitars. We can only support his talent and we hope that the breakthrough will come for him.

El Daga, our artistic friend enhances guitars with his work. If you want to have a stunning visual experience you should hand him a guitar to tune it.

Greg Germino, our sole guitar amplifier builder to date, made us discover the CE certification needed for amps to be sold in Europe. We invested with him significant time to go through the CE certification process and this will help us also to get on board some other small boutique amp builders as we have now acquired the knowhow to assist them. We discovered in this process that plenty of part producer and vendors do not comply with the rules and we will probably tell the story in one or the other article. Nevertheless we are now proud that we can offer the 40/45/55 Germino amps for sale in Europe and which are compliant with the CE rules. As those amps are hand built they will not appear in large quantities on the market, so drop is a line to reserve your amp.

Based on the experience with those friends we decided to move up the sound experience and add some new builders.

The first to step up is Michael Tuttle. Based on a standard Fender platform he enhances the experience of his guitars. He has specialised in the fine art of what it takes to make a piece of wood feel good. Michael makes the necks feel like they're a part of your hands from the moment you pick them up. We are really looking forward working with him.

Other builders will join our TYS family in the coming months to give our customers a comprehensive offer of instruments.

For those in Europe we have also invested in a great showroom where you can not only demo our instruments on sale but where you are immersed in the history of the electric guitar and that of Rock 'n' Roll. If you want to visit us it's only on appointment basis. So drop us a email: info@tuneyoursound.com

Stay tuned for the next news to come!
